【英莎萃語】吃貨的人

我自小是一個超級雞翼控,獨自一人吃十多隻雞翼。之前去泰國旅行時學煮泰菜,然後在家弄了個香茅青檸雞翼,自創食譜如下:

  1. 冬陰功湯料一包,入面有香茅、青檸、檸檬葉、紅蔥頭
  2. 紐西蘭無激素雞翼,皮特別薄
  3. 調味料:魚露、頭抽、玫瑰露酒、冰糖、麻油、青檸汁、香茅碎、紅葱頭碎、檸檬葉碎
  4. 雞翼與醃料放在保鮮袋,再放進雪櫃,每一小時取出按摩一下,好快入味。

而去年DSE居然考了食評這個生活化的題目,多提例子可以取高一點分數。Foodie、food lover或者food aficionado都可以指「吃貨」或「美食家」。現在來讓我們來學習一下有關美食的詞彙。

 

1. Foodie (n.) 美食家

We can call a person who loves food and is very interested in different types of food a foodie or food aficionado.
我們可以稱一位熱愛食物、對不同類型的食物都非常感興趣的人為美食家。

2. Sizable (adj.) 相當大的

In this day and age, with a sizable following on Instagram account, everyone can establish himself or herself as a respected member of Hong Kong’s foodie community.
在當今時代,Instagram帳戶上有大量關注者,每個人都可以成為香港美食界受人尊敬的社區成員。

3. Aficionado (n.) 狂熱者

To be a successful food blogger, one should spend time reading restaurant reviews by other food aficionados and also stay updated with reports of new restaurants like the Michelin Guide.
要成為一名成功的美食博主,應該花時間閱讀餐廳評論,以及其他美食狂熱者的最新報道,如《米芝蓮指南》。

4. Ever-evolving (adj.) 不斷發展的

With Hong Kong's ever-evolving dining culture, foodies love exploring the city, savouring something new from famous restaurants to hidden local gems and sharing their dining experience on social media.
隨着香港不斷發展的飲食文化,美食家們喜歡探索城市,品嘗從著名餐廳到隱世寶藏的新事物,並在社交媒體上分享他們的用餐體驗。

5. Delectable (adj.) 美味可口的

In a Thai cooking school, foodies can embark on an exotic culinary adventure under the guidance of the talented chefs and create a selection of delectable Thai dishes such as papaya salad, green curry and coconut soup.
在泰國烹飪學校,美食家可以在才華橫溢的廚師指導下,進行異國風味的烹飪冒險,製作精選的泰國美食,例如木瓜沙律、綠咖喱和椰子湯。

6. Revolutionary (adj.) 革命性的

Foodies must hit the streets in Seoul to discover the revolutionary and mouthwatering food, where you can buy french-fry encrusted hot dogs, skewered and deep-fried tornado potatoes.
美食家必須在首爾街頭逛逛,探索革命性和令人垂涎的美食,你可以在這裏買到法式炸薯條熱狗、串燒和油炸龍捲風薯條。

7. Tout (v.) 讚揚

Hong Kong has been touted by many as the food paradise not only because of its abundance of international cuisine but also the inexpensive street snacks around street corners.
香港獲許多人譽為美食天堂,不僅因為其豐富的國際美食,而且還因為街角附近的廉價街頭小吃。

8. Quintessential (adj.) 最典型的

Traditionally, the Siu Mai from the neighbourhood in Hong Kong usually contains fish or meat paste with a little bit of pork or without pork, which is best served with sweet soy sauce and chilli oil.
傳統上,來自香港社區的燒賣通常含有魚或肉餡,或許會有少量豬肉甚至不加豬肉,最好搭配甜食醬油和辣椒油享用。

9. Staple (adj.) 主要的

Though bubble tea is originated from Taiwan, it has become a staple street drink for Hong Kong people and many students and office workers line up and purchase the bubble tea during their lunch break.
儘管珍珠奶茶起源於台灣,但它已成為香港人的主要街頭飲品,許多學生及上班族午休時都會排隊購買珍珠奶茶。
