Study: video games speeds up senses2013.07.16
PLAYING certain video games might help improve your visual searching skills, according to researchers at the University of Toronto. They said this is because of the searching skills that players develop during games.
For the study, players had to find something hidden in the middle of other objects. According to the results, people who play shooting and driving games became “faster and more accurate” at searching for things.
But the result does not apply to all games. In the same study, people who play puzzle game did not find things faster.
Visual searching skills are important to occupations like a doctor and scientist. For example, a doctor may have to look at an x-ray, while a scientist may have to look at a satellite image.
But of course, playing too many video games can also be bad. It is always important to balance your time!
