Norwegian restaurant Under opens European eatery is underwater2019.04.01
IN late March, a new restaurant opened in southern Norway (挪威), one that is mostly underwater. The eatery is actually in a concrete tube, but on one side, only a giant glass window separates the customers and the North Sea (大西洋北海).
Called Under, which means ‘wonder’ in Norwegian, the restaurant was designed by the Norwegian architecture company Snoehetta. Seating about 40 people, it is lit up by sunlight during the day, though the room is greenish because of the water.
Restaurant prices are expensive, with a full 18-course meal, consisting of seafood and other local items, costing 3,700 crowns (HK$1,293). But Gaute Ubostad, one of the owners, said he expects about 12,000 customers per year.
