Winter wonder in lights TST show now has LED screens2017.12.09
THE ‘Symphony of Lights’ show (幻彩詠香江) has been upgraded. The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced that on 1 December, 47 buildings are now part of the light show. And it has just gotten a new arrangement for winter.
The government has even footed the bill of HK$100 million, to be used over three years. The tourism board has already assessed any possible light pollution, and has decided to change the lights to LED ones.
Spectators can see ‘snow’ on the outer wall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙嘴). Through five eight-minute segments, 3D light effects will ‘freeze’ the wall with a ‘snowstorm’. The fountain there also has a giant crystal ball on top for the public to take photos of.
