Chemistry workshop at HKU for ‘Clever Foodies’

THE University of Hong Kong (HKU,香港大學) and BASF, a German chemical company, are holding a four-day workshop in August at HKU called ‘Clever Foodies’ (至醒美食家), for primary students.

Over 1,000 primary children will do chemistry experiments under the supervision of HKU ‘ambassadors’ and other volunteers. Students from P1 to P6 can find out how important fruits and vegetables are in a person’s diet. Through experiments such as ‘Who is the Vitamin C Champion?’ and ‘Healthy Rainbow’, students will learn how to measure various things, and compare the amounts of vitamin C and other minerals in different fruits and vegetables.

The workshop is accepting applications, both online and off, from 22 June to 5 July.
