Lady to make 1,000 dresses before 100th birthday
2014.09.24WHY would a 99-year-old US (美國) lady sew a dress a day? She is helping a charity organisation called ‘Little Dresses for Africa (非 洲)’. The organisation distributes the dresses to young girls in need of clothing.
Lillian Weber, an Iowa (愛荷華州) resident, said a few friends of hers – all over 80 years of age – are also doing it.
Sewing one dress a day may seem like slow progress, but one main reason for this is that she tries to make every dress unique by putting some special features on each of them.
Lillian started this charity work in 2011 and has already sewn over 840 dresses. Her goal is to complete 1,000 dresses before her 100th birthday in May 2015.
