Bad posture gives you ‘Game Boy back’2013.08.27
LET’S do a simple health test: can you bend over and touch your toes? If you feel uncomfortable doing so, you may have a ‘Game Boy back’, a group of Dutch doctors say.
A Game Boy is a games console that was a huge hit in the 1990s. A person with a ‘Game Boy back’ suffers from back problems caused by spending hours hunched over computers or handheld devices like smartphones, tabloid computers and games consoles. He may also curve his spine in a C-shape without noticing.
More and more children in Europe are developing a ‘Game Boy back’, the Dutch doctors have found. These back problems may pose a lifelong effect on children, they reported in a medical publication.
To prevent back issues, doctors encourage youngsters to keep a good posture when playing with electronic devices.
