Australian zoos set up 24-hour livestreams
2020.05.11Viewers can see daily life of animals
Many places have remained closed despite plans to reopen in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and zoos are no different. But zoo managers in Australia (澳洲) are still indirectly letting people visit, by broadcasting live-streams of their animals.
For example, the Taronga Zoo Sydney has set up live webcams, and the public can see some animals at any time, like the Sumatran (蘇門答臘的) tigers – which are endangered – seals and elephants. Zookeepers also show the feeding process and explain details of their conservation efforts.
The Zoos Victoria organisation shows sections of some of their zoos, such as the Melbourne Zoo, the Healesville Sanctuary, and the Werribee Open Range Zoo. One of their 24-hour live-streams was focused on a snow leopard cub.
