215 ancient tombs found in Shanxi Oldest one from over 2,000 years ago

SOME 215 ancient tombs have been discovered in Shuozhou, Shanxi Province (山西省朔州市). The local cultural department said the oldest tomb is from the Warring States era and the newest is from the Jin Dynasty.
The group of tombs spans an area of 50 hectares. Originally the area was a forest. The authorities tried to develop the land for a funeral parlour but it found some ancient artefacts. They probed the place further and found burial pieces thousands of years old.
After getting permission from both the national and provincial cultural departments, the local government has started an official dig of the area. Currently, they have already excavated 12 tombs.
