African American visits all 195 countries US woman hopes to inspire people of colour2019.10.30
AN African American woman, Jessica Nabongo, from the US city of Detroit (底特律), has just broken a world record by becoming the first black woman to visit all 195 countries in the world. This former United Nations (UN) employee started her journey in 2016.
Nabongo reached the last country on her list, Seychelles (塞舌爾), an island nation in the Indian Ocean (印度洋), around early October. Currently, the UN has 193 member nations, and the status of the remaining two places that Nabongo visited are in dispute.
Born in Detroit, Nabongo is a child of immigrant parents from Uganda (烏干達). Through her feat, she hopes to encourage and inspire other women and people of colour to fulfil their dreams. According to records, about 150 people have visited all the 193 countries on Earth.
