「香港大學一號」衞星 料年中探索太空

說起太空研究，小朋友或會想到美國太空總署，其實香港也不乏研究航天科技的人才。早前香港大學太空研究實驗室聯同內地大學、研究所和科技公司，合作研製「香港大學一號」衞星，預計今年中發射。衞星將會搜尋宇宙暗物質、觀測太陽系彗星，並探索太陽風和地球磁層的相互作用等。

衞星任務範圍廣泛，結合了天文學、地球科學和行星科學等領域知識，如研究富星系團中的熱氣體、觀測太陽系中的彗星等，從而令太空研究實驗室的研究更趨完善和全面。

When we talk of space research, the first thing that comes to mind might be NASA, but Hong Kong has many talented people studying space technology as well. Recently, the Laboratory for Space Research at University of Hong Kong, together with mainland universities, research institutes and technology company, developed the satellite HKU No. 1. It is scheduled to launch around mid-2019. The satellite will search for dark matter in the universe, observe comets in the solar system, and explore the interaction between solar winds and Earth’s magnetosphere.
