AZOO in Sydney, Australia (澳洲悉尼) welcomed some new baby animals – two meerkats (狐獴) and 20 feathertail gliders (羽尾袋鼯). The meerkats in Taronga Zoo were born at the beginning of the year, but were brought out for public viewing only recently.
Maz Boz, the meerkats’ caretaker, said, “The pups are now standing on their hind legs, which will play an important role during sentry duty watches when they become adults… Visitors can see the pups for short periods as they start to grow in confidence.”
The zoo also got a baby chimpanzee and gorilla last year. Both of them are very playful and brought a lot of energy to the primate section of the zoo, which will be open every day during the holidays. The zoo recommends going there during guided tours.
