A picture of a boy rescued from the rubble of his home which was bombed in the Syrian (敍利亞的) city of Aleppo (阿勒頗) was shown all over the world. He was covered in dust, dazed and confused. It broke the hearts of many people who saw the image.

Alex, a six-year-old boy living in New York (紐約), was saddened too. So he wrote a letter to President Barack Obama (奧巴馬), asking for that Syrian boy be taken to the US as a refugee and live with Alex’s family. A video clip of Alex reading his letter was posted on the White House website. Obama mentioned Alex in his recent speech to the United Nations (聯合國).

The video clip got over 18 million views on Facebook. Many praised Alex for his kindness and compassion.
