Penguin swims 8,000 kilometres to visit rescuer
2016.03.18João Pereira de Souza is a 71-year old man living near Rio de Janeiro (里約熱內盧), Brazil (巴西). He is a retired bricklayer and part-time fisherman. Five years ago, he found a dying penguin lying on the beach, covered in oil and starving. He fed and cleaned it. Then the penguin, which he named JingJing, walked away and disappeared.
But some months later, JingJing came back to see the old man who rescued it! It is believed that it swam from the southern tip of Chile (智利), which meant the round trip was 8,000 kilometres long! More surprisingly, it has done this every year, for up to five years now.
