反警示威潮　席捲全美

小時候，爸媽老師教過警察的職責是維持社會治安，保護市民；但近日美國人可不這樣想。事緣一名黑人青年懷疑被警察虐待致死，外界批評警察濫權使用暴力，又多番無理針對黑人，於是觸發美國群眾於多個城市上街示威。其中上周三紐約有逾千名示威者在曼哈頓聯合廣場參與遊行，群眾舉起「為格雷求公義」標語。有道路一度堵塞，其後警方鎮壓清場，出動警棍、頸鎖等武力驅趕示威者。此外，首都華盛頓、波士頓、西雅圖等多個城市都有發生反警示威。

When we were small, teachers and parents taught us the police protect us. But recently, an African American man died because of the police; he was from Baltimore and was critically injured when in police custody. Several hundred people gathered in New York on Wednesday to protest the death of Freddie Gray, and against police violence. Demonstrators stopped traffic as they tried to block an entrance to the main road in New York. More than a dozen of them were arrested. Other cities in the US like Washington DC, Boston, and Seattle also had protests. Baltimore had the biggest demonstration which over thousands of people had gathered. People were arrested and the city was put under a curfew.
