25th anniversary for famed Icehotel

IT is common for a hotel to undergo periodic renovation, but Sweden’s (瑞典) Icehotel (冰酒店) does it really frequently and completely! As the name implies, Icehotel is built purely of ice – or to be more exact, ice and snow. Every year after winter, the ice and snow will melt, so the whole hotel will disappear! Then as winter comes, a new hotel is built again – which will melt and disappear again when the temperature rises.

Icehotel celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Although it was the first of its kind, there are now many copycats in Canada (加拿大), Finland (芬蘭), Japan (日本), Norway (挪威), Romania (羅馬尼亞) and Switzerland (瑞士).
