FOR many years now, it has been very easy for anyone with a computer and a printer to print out a picture of car. But it was just a two-dimensional drawing or photo of one. Now with the advances in 3D printing technology, we can actually print out a three-dimensional full-sized car – and drive it right away!
Last month, a 3D printer in Chicago (芝加哥), the US (美國), created an electric car called Strati. Apart from the four wheels it rolls on, its whole body was printed out in one piece, from the ground up.
After the four wheels were put on and it was charged, Strati immediately set out on its first journey!
3D printing technology can also create prosthetic body parts, which is a great help to people with various illnesses.
