TAI KWUN (大館) – the former Central Police Station compound – has been open for one year. It has received 2.9 million visitors by March. Moreover, the revitalisation of
another historical Central compound will be finished later this year.
The Development Bureau (發展局) said that most of the Tai Kwun buildings have been opened this year. Two historical buildings of the compound are still being inspected. One
building is partially collapsed. The Jockey Club, which runs Tai Kwun, is planning how to repair it.
Also being revitalised is the former Central Government Offices. Building work will be finished by June. The government said that once the building is reworked, it will have
more room for exhibitions, as well as offices for nongovernment organisations.
