RESEARCHERS from a Brazilian (巴西的) university and a Dutch (荷蘭的) one found that playing with your mobile phone while eating can lead to the person getting more energy, which might lead to weight gain.
The scientists got 62 young volunteers and let them choose from three kinds of food: healthy food, fizzy drinks and chocolate. The subjects could eat until they were full. The first time, the volunteers simply ate. The second time they used their phones while eating. The third time, they read a printed article while eating.
The results showed that the subjects took in 591 calories on average when they ate while using phones, 56 calories more than when focused on eating. The researchers think phone use keeps the brain from realising how much the person has eaten.
