SOPHIA Chan Siu-chee (陳肇始), Secretary for Food and Health (食物及衞生局局長), said the government has decided that flu vaccinations at primary schools will be a constant programme. She also plan to expand the programme to kindergartens and childcare centres.
Chan said that by 17 February, the number of primary schools under the flu vaccination programme has gone from 65 during the 2017-18 year to 402 for the 2018-19 year, with 55.3 percent of primary students vaccinated.
During the 2018-19 year, 371,000 doses of vaccine were given out to children aged six months to 11. This is an increase of 118.4 percent from last year.
