ON 5 December, the Hong Kong News Expo (香港新聞博覽館) officially opened. Located in Central, the museum is the first in Asia to teach the public about news reporting. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor (林鄭月娥) was at the opening ceremony.
Lam said the museum shows how vital Hong Kong thinks journalism is and that it is an important step towards continuing journalistic culture. Because traditional media currently faces the impact of new media, the museum’s opening is especially meaningful.
The ceremony was also attended by over 200 guests from different sectors, including education and commerce. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday.
