Flu vaccine spray recommended Number of protected kids has dropped 2018.10.29

THE Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Hong Kong (SHPHK, 香港醫院藥劑師學會) conducted a survey in the last two months and found that over 90 percent of parents were worried that their children might get the flu if there is a local  outbreak. But over 40 percent of them have not let their kids get the vaccine. Over half of all parents thought that nasal-spray flu vaccines should be introduced.
The SHPHK thinks that due to the parents’ misunderstanding, the percentage of vaccinated children has decreased. The SHPHK said the effectiveness of the nasal sprays is about the same as shots, but nasal sprays do not cause pain. The SHPHK is recommending the spray to increase the vaccination rate.
