Goose admitted to Shanghai university 2018.09.03
19494 19494

RECENTLY, the Shanghai Maritime University (SMU, 上海海事大學) accepted a new ‘student’, but this admission is causing quite a bit of talk online. The reason is probably because the new ‘student’ is not human, but a goose named Gu Gu (咕咕).
Gu Gu’s original owner had to move away from Shanghai. He could not bring the goose with him. But after having it for a year and a half, he could not bear to eat it. So he went online and asked SMU, which already has a family of geese living at one of its lakes, to take on one more.
The official social media account of SMU replied with a yes, and netizens’ hearts all went aflutter. Many called the goose “handsome”; one even posted a fake acceptance letter, giving Gu Gu an animal science major.
