THE Fifa World Cup started on 14 June and will end on 15 July. Russia (俄羅斯), the host nation, has scheduled the matches in 11 different cities located on the western region of the country.
The first match was at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow (莫斯科) between Russia and Saudi Arabia (沙地阿拉伯). Russia won 5-0 and then also won its second game, beating Egypt (埃及) 3-1. The final will be in same stadium.
The World Cup is broadcast all over the world. Although parts of Russia are in the same time zone as Hong Kong, all the matches are a few time zones away. This means Hong Kong fans have to stay up late to watch matches held at 2am.
