ARECENT survey of the Asia-Pacific region (亞太區) has found out that Hong Kong ranks fourth from last in the number of people who eat breakfast.
An organisation surveyed 5,500 people in 11 places, including Japan (日本) and Hong Kong, on their breakfast habits. Of the 500 Hongkongers, only 60 percent eat breakfast. Of the respondents who did not, 54 percent said they do not have time.
Chen Zhenyu (陳振宇), a life science  professor, said many studies have shown that not eating breakfast would increase the risk of serious illnesses like heart diseases. He recommended eating breakfast because our bodies need protein after we wake up.
