THE Hong Kong Museum of History is holding a Silk Road exhibition that has artefacts from China, Kyrgyzstan (吉爾吉斯斯坦) and Kazakhstan (哈薩克斯坦). The Miles upon Miles: World Heritage along the Silk Road exhibition features 210 artefacts, such as jade items, silks, silver and gold items and murals.
At the entrance of the exhibition are two large screens showing the three-dimensional map of the Silk Road. caravan, and so on. Terence Cheung Yui-sum (張銳森) of the museum said, “Many people assume the Silk Road goes through only deserts, but there are many different environments and climate, such as river valleys and mountain ranges.”
Since the Silk Road saw its most important developments during the Han and Tang Dynasties, the exhibition focuses on those two eras.
