SINGAPORE has plans to have driverless buses running all over the city by 2022. Government officials said that they are currently testing the self-driving buses in three residential areas.
The officials added that these buses will carry passengers to and from train stations and bus stops. Since these areas have less traffic, the buses can run more smoothly. The government hopes that these buses would help reduce bottle that can hold carbonated drinks. traffic jams.
Initially, the buses will only run during non-peak hours, and the government plans to install more functions – for example, letting passengers call for them through smartphones – onto the buses. Compared to other Southeast Asian (東南亞的) countries, Singapore’s traffic problem is not that bad, but it plans to be a pioneer in driverless technology.
