A GROUP of eight Legislative Council members visited a new MTR station to check on its building progress. Legco members, including Frankie Yick Chi-ming (易志明), who represents the transport constituency, went to Kai Tak Station (啟德站) to see how the new Sha Tin-Central Link is progressing.
Philco Wong Nai-keung (黃唯銘) of the MTRC said that 92 percent of the section from Tai Wai (大圍) to Hung Hom (紅磡) has been completed, but only 59 percent of the section from Hung Hom to Admiralty (金鐘) has been completed. He added that a reason for the delay was the discovery of some ancient wells.
Wong also said that the MTRC will submit a report to ther council by the end of the year on how much over-budget the Sha Tin-Central line will be. But as the project is progressing according to schedule, the estimates will not be changed anymore.
