CHIEF Executive-designate Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor (林鄭月娥) said on 28 March in a radio show that she hoped to discuss cancelling May’s Territory-wide System Assessment (TSA, 全港性系統評估) for Primary Three with the current administration. The test has been criticised by many parents as schools try to drill their students with more exercises and practice exams. However, Leung Chun-ying (梁振英), the current CE, said that even if the Primary Three TSA is to be cancelled, that decision will have to be made after 1 July.
Lam responded afterwards that the cancellation idea was only her personal hope, brought up because she heard that some parents were worried. She added that if the current administration thinks that it would be too difficult to do so, then that must be respected, as all decisions before 1 July belong to the current administration.
