LINA Wong (黃莉娜) works in information technology, but she is also an amateur photographer. She has visited more than 10 countries during the last few years, mostly for work, but sometimes she would literally go the extra mile just for a great photo.
Wong became interested in photography in 2011. Two years later she took a course as a long-distance student with the famous New York Institute of Photography (紐約攝影學院).
Last October, she went to Alaska (阿拉斯加) and took a photo that she titled ‘The Dance of the Aurora’ (the Chinese name (綠茶卷蛋極光) translates directly as ‘Green Tea Egg Roll Aurora’). She submitted it to a travel photography contest run by a Spanish (西班牙的) website and won HK$4,000.
Wong will donate part of her prize to help poor children living in mountainous regions. She has already worked out where she wants to go this year. Her first stop will be Paria (帕利亞), in the US state of Utah (猶他州), for its colourful rocks before heading to Siberia (西伯利亞).
