WE all want white teeth so we can smile brilliantly. But it is not enough to brush your teeth twice a day — you have to brush them properly too. First, we have to choose toothbrushes with soft bristles, says Edwin Leung Wai-keung (梁惠強), a professor at the faculty of dentistry at the University of Hong Kong(香港大學牙醫學院).
Second, do not use too much force when brushing teeth. Too much force will brush away the enamel on our teeth and expose the dentin, which is yellowish. It will also hurt the gums.
Third, we should floss after brushing, because dental floss can reach places between teeth that toothbrushes cannot, and remove tartar. Many Hongkongers have cavities and gum diseases.
