MANY parents become afraid for their children when a big dog approaches.
But photographer Andy Seliverstoff likes seeing the contrast between huge dogs and young children, especially the affection between them. So he made that theme the focus of his photo book Little Kids and Their Big Dogs.
Seliverstoff owned a St Bernard 25 years ago and he has been fond of bigger dogs since then. One day, when he photographed his friends’ daughter Alice with their Great Dane, he saw the affection between the girl and the dog. The idea for the photo book was born.
Seliverstoff said, “The main priority with these photos wasn’t just to make beautiful pictures, but to also show how children and their big dogs communicate and make contact with each other.”
