YOU cannot miss the priority seats on the MTR because they are clearly marked. They are for people in need, ie, senior citizens, pregnant women, people with disabilities and those with young children.
The MTR Corporation is upgrading the service, by providing four such seats per carriage. The railway firm has joined forces with RTHK to urge passengers to give up seats to those in need.
Priority seating began in 2009. As the response from passengerss was positive, the railway company added more such seats. RTHK Radio 2 disc jockeys will be posing as passengers in need to see who are willing to give up their seat. Kind passengers will recieve a gift and a chance to be interviewed on the DJs' shows.
