THE US (美國) city of Seattle (西雅圖) is a popular and lively place to live, but it seems to rain there a lot. Bad weather can make people feel unhappy. To cheer people up, magician and artist Peregrine Church has combined both of his special skills to produce a lovely style of street art that he calls ‘rainworks’.
When it is rainy, people can see lots of drawings and paintings on the ground in the city’s streets. But when it is sunny, they can see none of them because they have disappeared! How does Church do this? He uses a special kind of paint that is invisible when dry but becomes visible when it gets wet.
According to Church, the ‘rainworks’ are completely non-toxic and do not harm the environment. Each piece lasts for around four months, depending on how many people walk over them.
