AFRENCHMAN (法國男人) who is paralysed from the shoulders down was able to walk using a robotic exoskeleton system. The machinery receives the man’s brain signals and moves his four limbs accordingly, letting him stand up and walk again.
The researchers added that they think medicine will one day help all paralysed people move again using technology that is connected to their brains.
However, they also said that the exoskeleton is still being tested and cannot be used in a practical way. The head of the research team, Alim-Louis Benabid, said, “This is not as invasive and it can move the patient’s four limbs according to his or her own brain signals.”
